Competition among alliances of different sizes

چکیده
To understand the biodiversity of an ecosystem cannot be understood by solely analyzing pair relations competing species. Instead, we should consider multi-point interactions because presence a third party could change original microscopic outcome significantly. In this way alliance may emerge where species, who have biased otherwise, can protect each other from external invader. Such formed two, three or even more By introducing minimal model six species compete for space here study how size determines vitality formation. We show that in majority parameter group smallest prevails and solutions only observed limited range. These phases are separated discontinuous phase transitions which identified intensive numerical efforts due to serious finite effects long relaxation processes.

Technological Competition and Strategic Alliances*
Using a large unique patent-strategic alliance dataset over the period 1990 to 2004, we first show that firms faced with greater technological competition are more likely to form alliances. Technological competition is captured by a cosine similarity measure between a firm’s own patent output and the patent output of all other firms in the economy. We further show that alliances lead to more pa...

EC competition law and airline alliances
The EC Commission has examined a number of airline alliances under EC competition law. Its general approach is to identify the relevant market(s), to assess the likely effect on competition in those markets and then to propose remedies/conditions. Remedies generally include those: concerning operations on the route(s); allowing competitors access to certain facilities; involving undertakings by...
متن کاملDynamic Competition Networks: detecting alliances and leaders
We consider social networks of competing agents that evolve dynamically over time. Such dynamic competition networks are directed, where a directed edge from nodes u to v corresponds a negative social interaction. We present a novel hypothesis that serves as a predictive tool to uncover alliances and leaders within dynamic competition networks. We validate the hypothesis using voting record dat...
متن کاملExchanging messages of different sizes
This paper deals with the study of the exchange of messages among a set of processors linked through an interconnection network. We focus on general, non-uniform versions of message exchange problems in asynchronous systems with a linear cost model and messages of arbitrary sizes. We extend previous complexity results to show that the general asynchronous problems are NP-complete. We present se...
